Polk County, FL Bookmobile
This 26 1/2 ft Explorer III Bookmobile, built on a Freightliner MT-45
chassis with an 18 ft. aluminum body was delivered to the Polk County
Library Cooperative in Lakeland Florida, providing service for patrons of
all ages.
External/Technical Features Include:
- Colorful full-wrap graphics featuring the library's slogan "It's a
Beautiful Day to Read a Book" depicts the beautiful Florida weather and
the service the unit provides.
- The convenient "One Step" electric awning provides shelter on rainy
days and shade on sunny days.
- Two (2) roof-mounted air conditioners keep the interior cool and
comfortable even on the hottest days.
Internal Features Include:
- Wrap-around double front desks with connecting drop-leaf extension
provides staff with spacious work areas.
- Noise-dampening acoustic wall carpet helps keep the interior quiet.
- Built-in microwave and mini-refrigerator for staff use while "on the
road."
- Adjustable aluminum shelving fits all types of collections including
over-sized materials.
- Book drop for returns.
- Custom-crafted wood desks and cabinetry.
